It is the new flagship consumer camcorder with high quality video and Dolby Digital AC3 5.1-channel surround sound, that features 1080p/60p progressive recording enabling you to record clean, remarkably in depth graphics using a shifting image resolution that surpasses Full HD and generates all new color-bright image quality. The Panasonic HDC-TM700K HD camcorder sports the newly designed, large-diameter F1.5 (46mm) Leica Dicomar lens, which provides outstanding image rendering and not only eliminates ghosts and flare, but also decreases the distortion and degradation of contrast and resolution, to deliver a very sharp and clear image. In fact, the lens was exclusively developed for the HDC-TM700k to work in conjuntion with the progressive method in pulling in as much light as possible to produce a brighter and more clear image no matter what light you have available. The progressive recording is able to record double the amount of data as HDV camcorders that use the interlace method. The combination of 3MOS sensor and F1.5 Leica Dicomar lens deliver great HD video in any lighting condition.
The HDC-TM700K’s 35mm wide lens with 18x Intelligent Zoom means that you can enjoy the advantages of a wide angle lens without giving up the efficiency of a long zoom. Its 35mm wide-angle capability makes it perfect for quite a few different shooting situations, such as self-portraits, group photos, and landscape shots. The 12x optical zoom lens is further improvised by Intelligent Resolution Technology to extend the zoom to an 18x Intelligent Zoom.
The 1920×1080 60p recording mode is the highest quality you can get for a personal camcorder right now, but that doesn’t really make the TM700K stand-out. What does, however, is the progressive mode of recording that this Panasonic camcorder utilizes. With progressive mode, the HDC-TM700K records 60 images per second and blends them together to provide a very detailed and smooth video.
In still-image mode the TM700K camcorder can record stills with up to 14.2 megapixels (4608 x 3072) for images recorded with a 3:2 aspect ratio. When simultaneously shooting a motion image, it can record still images with up to 13.3 megapixels (4864 x 2736) for images recorded with a 16:9 aspect ratio. Not only does the Panasonic HDC-TM700K have ideal recording capabilities; we were amazed at how crisp and vivid recorded images were once they were changed into still images. The simplicity of creating these still images was perfect for someone who did not know a lot about camcorders.
For storage, the Panasonic HDC-TM700K comes with a built-in 32 GB of storage space, but there is an additional slot in the form of SD, SDHC, or SDXC memory cards.
For a consumer camcorder, the Panasonic HDC-TM700K is really a complete package, more than you will find in comparably priced models in fact. The experienced videographer will be happy with the technical features of the HDC-TM700K, while the home video enthusiast will enjoy the simplicity and the ability to grow into an experienced videographer.
